February Peer-to-Peer Roundup

It’s truly a gift that we get to partner with so many amazing events raising money for great causes and organizations. And there’s certainly no shortage of amazing events to shine a light on, but we like to pick a few we think are particularly outstanding to share each month.

Below are three events that are inspiring us, and we hope do the same for you.

Run for the Rose

Customer Snapshot

  • Benefactor: Dr. Marie Rose Foundation
  • Event type: Race (5k/ 1k)
  • Donation goal: $300,000

Over the past 20 years the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation has donated more than $7 million from its Run for the Rose to brain cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center and UTHealth Houston. They also provide funding for a number of pediatric health initiatives at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.

They’re new to the platform but are already having a lot of success. Over the last few months they’ve already raised nearly two thirds of their $300,000 fundraising goal, with more donations coming in daily. We’re sure they’ll hit their goal in no time.

Why we love it

Teams

Fundraising isn’t always the easiest task, even when you’re supporting an amazing organization like the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation. However, as the old saying goes, we’re strong together. And team fundraisers are a great example of that. In fact, our recent trends report found that fundraisers with teams turned on raised more money on average than those who didn’t utilize the feature.

Custom fundraiser donation instructions

Another great touch they’ve done is made custom fundraiser donation instructions. It’s a recent update to our platform and allows event organizers to provide more detailed information for individual fundraisers to limit confusion and help them have the biggest impact possible.

Els for Autism

Els for Autism serves families around the world, offering virtual services, and in-person programs and services at The Els Center of Excellence campus in Jupiter, Florida.

Why we love it

Organization website

When an organization puts on a number of events in a variety of locations, it can sometimes be difficult to keep all their current, and potential, supporters aware. The Els Foundation smartly utilized our Organization Page feature to create a page where people can see all of their upcoming events in one place.

If someone sees an event they’re interested in they simply click the link and are taken to the specific page for that event where they can then register. It helps keep people informed and serves as a central place for any interested party to see all the great things an organization has planned.

Cards for Casa

Customer Snapshot

  • Benefactor: Henrico CASA
  • Event type: Fundraiser
  • Donation goal: Unlimited

We love seeing young people get involved in giving back. One common way we see that is through different campus organizations like fraternities and sororities. Kappa Alpha Theta’s –a national sorority – national philanthropy is CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Every year the University of Richmond’s chapter works with their local program, Henrico CASA, to support their work on behalf of children who are the victims of abuse and neglect.

Why we love it

Unlike the others on the list, Kappa Alpha Theta isn’t using the platform for an event per se, but as a place to collect donations. People can sign up to be individual fundraisers, or create teams. Utilizing both team and individual fundraisers helps expand reach and potentially raise more awareness and donations.
