This year our customers will send 800 Million Emails. For Free. We have about 30,000 events on our platform, so that translates into over 25,000 emails per event.
Those emails are effective – 17% of registrations come from those emails. Our customers will generate about $550 Million of revenue this year using our platform, so $93 Million of revenue is generated from those 800 Million Emails. For Free.
A lot of our customers are transitioning from MailChimp and Constant Contact to our email system. We’re also seeing a number of former Eventbrite customers move to TicketSignup. They love the ease of use, the rich set of features, the ability to integrate their event-oriented data to make their emails more meaningful. But everyone loves the Free part of it.
So we started thinking, how much are we saving customers by not having to use Eventbrite, MailChimp or Constant Contact. Let’s look at the pricing for each and make some CONSERVATIVE estimates of savings.
Eventbrite – We Save Customers $4 Million per Year
Eventbrite charges by the number of sends per day:
Let’s use the cost per send of $0.005 to be conservative. Multiplied by the 800 Million sends, that is a savings of $4 Million a year.
MailChimp – We Save Customers $7.7 Million per Year
Mailchimp charges on a per contact basis. For 10,000 contacts, their customers pay $135 per month, or $1,620 per year, or $0.16 per contact. At the 50,000 contacts level, the cost is $5,400, or $0.108 per contact.
Our customers have a total of 77 Million contacts uploaded or available from previous registration in our Email system. Assume a conservative cost of only $0.10 per contact would mean that we are saving MailChimp customers $7.7 Million.
Constant Contact – We Save Customers $7.7 Million per Year
Constant Contact also charges on a per contact basis. For 10,000 contacts, their customers pay $210 per month, or $2,100 per year, or $0.21 per contact. At the 50,000 contacts level, the cost is $5,5200, or $0.11 per contact.
Our customers have a total of 77 Million contacts uploaded or available from previous registration in our Email system. Assume a conservative cost of only $0.10 per contact would mean that we are saving Constant Contact customers $7.7 Million.
